about the event
$7 MILLION RAISED FOR CANCER RESEARCH AND PATIENT PROGRAMS
The Coaches vs. Cancer BasketBall brings together business, health care, and philanthropic leaders for a night to make a difference in the fight against cancer and fund life saving research, advocacy, education and patient programs right here in Philadelphia. More than 500 guests, company sponsors, donors, and volunteers participated on April 13, 2019 raising an incredible $750,000 to advance the American Cancer Society's lifesaving mission. In 2018 alone, the American Cancer Society has provided over 20,000 free nights of lodging at AstraZeneca Hope Lodge, provided over 33,000 rides for cancer patients to and from treatment, and is currently funding 31 research grants totaling $18.8 million, all here in Philadelphia.
The 17th Annual BasketBall will honor Dan Hilferty for his outstanding partnership with Coaches vs. Cancer and commitment to our mission of eliminating cancer. We are honored to celebrate Dan and his passion for the fight against cancer.
